In almost every conversation we are having these days, the common refrain is "I am not sure what to do. I don't know how to respond to the current attacks on all parts of society. It is too much to respond to." This leaves many of us frozen and silent, which is the exact response the current administration wants. There is no single right way to respond to the current attacks on democracy and humanity, but there is a wrong way - and that is to stay stuck in our silence and inaction. And, even though we are collectively under attack in myriad ways, White folks hold a particular place of privilege and safety within the system that brings a certain responsibility to act in partnership and on behalf of those who are experiencing/are in jeopardy of critical harm.
The goal of this series is to hold space for learning and reflection, AND to put that into action. As people who believe in liberation, justice, humanity, we need to work together in order to move from this stuck place of being frozen into taking thoughtful and courageous action.
